FreeDays
Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 July 2026
FreeDays is a mobile app for sharing your free time with friends and turning overlapping availability into plans. This page explains, in plain English, what data FreeDays stores, who processes it, how it is protected, and how to delete it.
What we store
FreeDays stores only what the app needs to work. It falls into four groups:
Account & profile
- Your sign-in details: email address and password (managed by Supabase authentication).
- Your full name and username.
- Your profile bio, if you write one (up to 280 characters).
- Your default timezone, used to show times correctly.
- Your avatar photo, if you set one — stored in a private storage bucket that only you and your friends can read.
Social graph
- Friend requests you send or receive, including their status (pending, accepted, or declined).
- Your friendships — who you are friends with.
- Friend invite links you create: tokens tied to your account, with their expiry and whether you have revoked them.
- Circles — the friend groups you name and the friends you put in them. Your circles are private to you.
Availability & plans
- Your free-time slots: their start and end times, plus the timezone you created them in.
- Your live “free now” status: a time-limited broadcast visible to your friends, with an optional short message (up to 140 characters).
- Plans: their title, description, time, and location.
- Each participant's status on a plan (invited, accepted, or declined).
- Messages posted in a plan, and emoji reactions on those messages.
Notifications & device
- Your notification preferences — which kinds of notification you have switched on or off.
- Your device's push token, used to deliver push notifications to your phone.
Who processes your data
- Supabase hosts our backend: the database that holds the data listed above, the storage bucket that holds avatar photos, and the authentication service that manages sign-in.
- Expo delivers push notifications: your device push token and the content of each notification pass through Expo's push service. The app also checks Expo's update service for app updates.
Those are the only two services that process FreeDays data.
How your data is protected
- Everything in the database is guarded by row-level security, so only you and your accepted friends can see what is shared with them.
- Your session is stored on your device, in the operating system's secure storage.
- No ads.
- No analytics SDKs.
- No contact-list upload — FreeDays never asks for or reads your phone's contacts.
- We never sell your data.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open Profile > Delete account. Deleting your account removes your account and all of the data described above from our database immediately. Avatar image files are removed on a short delay — a fix to remove them immediately is in progress.
